Pikmin 4 Oatchi Guide
Updated · 1 min read
Oatchi is the Rescue Corps’ canine partner. Nintendo’s store copy highlights training him into a more helpful ally across the campaign.
Core abilities (Nintendo store)
- Giddyup — Explorer and Pikmin can ride; Oatchi can jump.
- Clear obstacles — Dig and smash parts of the environment to open paths.
- Go fetch — Retrieve and drag large items more easily than Pikmin alone.
- Divide and conquer — Issue orders so Oatchi handles tasks elsewhere while you work another objective.
Combat tip from Fresh Recruits
With many Pikmin on Oatchi’s back, press X to Rush. On impact, Pikmin leap onto the creature to keep fighting. If fights go poorly, Fresh Recruits recommends more gear, Oatchi power-ups at the Rescue Command Post, and growing your Onion counts.
Navigation tip from Fresh Recruits
Hold Y → Oatchi wedge for Commands such as Pick Up a Scent, treasure, castaways, or raw materials. Ride along once he locks a target.
Switch 2 voice commands
On the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Nintendo advertises microphone voice commands for Oatchi (plus praise). See Switch 2 Edition.
